San Diego Spring Break 2025
Spring break took us to San Diego to visit my sister, and the city delivered a packed few days of family fun — from a big-league ballpark to a legendary warship to some of the best fish tacos on the planet.
Highlights
- USS Midway Aircraft Carrier - One of the most impressive things you can walk through downtown. The sheer scale of this ship is hard to grasp until you’re standing on the flight deck. The exhibits and restored aircraft make for a genuinely memorable few hours.
- Padres Game - Caught a game at Petco Park, which is one of the nicest ballparks in the league. Great atmosphere, great views of the city, and a perfect way to spend an afternoon.
- WNDR Museum - A cool find — an interactive art and experience museum with a bunch of immersive, hands-on exhibits. Equal parts impressive and fun, and a great option for the whole family.
- The Beach - It was a little on the cool side for April, but that didn’t stop us from getting out there. The Pacific in spring is bracing, but the scenery is worth it.
- Fish Tacos - San Diego is the gold standard. Don’t leave without having them — multiple times if possible.

Tips
- Spend a full day downtown — walk the Embarcadero, do the USS Midway, grab lunch, and catch a Padres game in the evening
- Check out WNDR Museum — it’s a great break from the typical tourist circuit
- The beach is beautiful even when it’s cool; bring a layer and go anyway
- Fish tacos are non-negotiable — find a local spot and order early and often
